Working on "Les Ex-pendables de Paris-en-Fantasy" presented a unique challenge as I had to create seven characters individually so that they could be used independently on social media by the author, yet together they needed to form a cohesive composition for the book cover, and the deadline was really tight who required a style different from my usual work, but ultimately, it turned out to be a lot of fun. An intriguing aspect of this project was embedding subtle nods to celebrities who inspired each character—can you identify them?

The story itself is a whimsical adventure of six ex-convicts on a quest in Normandy to discover the ancestral recipe for camembert cheese. The unlikely heroes include the unparalleled Chuck Morrisse; Mister Torgnole, the feel-good orc; Râla Loch’ess, the catacomb-raiding elf; MC Dame la Vanne, the Belgian dwarf rapper; Roller Blaise, the vampire on wheels; and the enigmatic Mandale Laurianne. These mercenaries are no strangers to danger, especially Chuck Morrisse, who prefers to kick problems straight in the face. However, their quest for the Grail of cheese, with its unexpected powers, pits them against forces beyond their wildest imaginations—surpassing even the convoluted musings of MC Dame la Vanne.
